Introduction to the characteristics of BOPP film and BOPET film

When we choose self-adhesive label materials, we often hear the abbreviations of BOPP and BOPET, two plastic films. So what is the difference between them?

       BOPP is the abbreviation of "Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene", which is biaxially oriented polypropylene film. Its production is to first pass the melt of polymer polypropylene into sheets or thick films through a long and narrow machine head, and then in a special stretching machine, at a certain temperature and set speed, simultaneously or step by step A film made by stretching in two vertical directions (longitudinal and transverse) and undergoing appropriate cooling or heat treatment or special processing (such as corona, coating, etc.). BOPP film is a very important flexible packaging material. BOPP film is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency. The surface energy of BOPP film is low and corona treatment is required before gluing or printing. However, after corona treatment, BOPP film has good printing adaptability and can be printed with colors to obtain exquisite appearance. Therefore, it is often used as the surface material of composite films.

　　BOPET film is a biaxially oriented polyester film. BOPET film has the characteristics of high strength, good rigidity, transparency, high gloss, small heat shrinkage, antistatic, and high temperature resistance. However, BOPET has high density and will be corroded by strong alkali, so care should be taken when using it.
